Non-Hockey Chatter / Re: Coronavirus

I would take AZ if I were offered simply because my blood clot risk in AZ is lower than chance of getting covid and having major complications. Really a no brainer.

You know, I'd probably have to get more information before I took the AZ. I'm not particularly worried about the blood clotting risk either, but I am unclear about how well it protects against the current and future variants vs the mRNA, which seems to be fuelling the current outbreak, and likely will continue.

So I guess I'd happily take the AZ, but I wouldn't want to go to the back of the line to wait for a reshoot of the Pfizer or Moderna considering how much better they seem to be for the sake of waiting a bit longer up front. It's a tough call.

Palm Springs was fun. Ive always liked samberg, even though his range is pretty much limited to between goofball funny to very goofball funny.

Man, that justice league thing was just a weird mix of terrible. You could almost pick scene by scene where they were trying to rip off the Marvel movies, and failing miserably. They've got a loveable naive comedic character is spiderman? Then we'll do that to the flash! They've got a bunch of "collect the stones" treasure hunts? Then we'll do boxes! Thanos equivalent with drone minions? check! etc etc etc.

The absolute worst was their insistence on playing each character's signature theme music or something like it whenever they ramped up the CGI, it was just beyond cheese.

Anyway, some things are only worth seeing if you want to see stuff get blown up.

1. This quote/exchange is truly amazing.

2. It'll be sad if Karlsson isn't remembered more for the defenceman he was with the sens.

If by amazing, you mean typical of his off-putting prima donna red carpet act, then yep, definitely amazing. Ugh, I could never root for a team with Karlsson on it.

NHL Transactions / Re: Dubois to WPG for Laine and Roslovic

I'd bet Tortorella gone at the end of the season as opposed to Laine at the deadline. The GM must realize at this point he's detrimental to keeping talent in the organization.

It was really the same game we've seen since the Vancouver series ten? games ago. The team plays well, but doesn't bury their chances, and lets the points slip away.

I guess it really doesn't matter much since the playoffs are a lock, but it would be nice to see both the top two lines firing in goals at some point in the same game.

I guess Campbell won't get a star, but he made three hugely critical stops in the last ten minutes on high danger chances that would have iced the game for the Oil.

So if he let one in that he'd like back, he totally made up for it in the 3rd.

Nylander was just straight up garbage tonight.

It looked like he was turning it around over the last week or two going to the front of the net and danger areas, and tonight he was right back to skating lazy laps around the periphery.

And you know Melnyk isn't going to spend money on a cleaning crew, so that box is going to smell like my university dorm house for the rest of the season

I gotta ask - which goals did Andersen legitimately whiff on?

To me, the defensive breakdowns were far more concerning than expecting a goalie to stop seeing eye tips from both teams.

Based on my eyeball test living in a very big hockey development area, Canadian hockey is going to take a very big hit 10 years+ from now. I've played, coached, refereed, and been around the sport for most of my life, and I've never seen such ambivalence to the sport in my lifetime from the feeder crop of current youth.

If Simmonds can get back to where he was before he went out, that's a massive addition. The whole team was playing a couple inches taller when he was in the lineup.
