If that’s not a charge, there’s no such thing as charging.

It's almost literally the entire width of the ice.

Yup. Can't come across the ice much more than Wilson did there.

Charging, as defined in the rulebook:

Quote
Charging shall mean that the actions of a player or goalkeeper who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check and opponent in any manner. A "charge" may be the result of a check into the boards, into the goal frame or in open ice.

Large distance traveled? Check.
Violent check? Check.

It's charging.

Against the Bruins, definitely.

Samsonov just handed Boston the win in 2OT. Brutal play behind his own net.

The other angle is better..wtf is the D mean doing? He turned away from the puck.. Blame good to both of them but Wash didn't deserve it..I think they had 3 shots in 25 mins or OT.

It kind of looks like neither Cap knew Smith was charging in, or at the very least that he was charging so hard.

Watch him approach the blue line casually. As soon as his teammates clear the line he sprints. Smart play.

I put that one on Samsonov. Washington D looked like he was expecting Samsonov to feed him the puck to him in the corner. Almost like a set play. Smart play by Smith though.
