Going back 30 years, only one team has ever drafted a whole extra expected NHLer or more above their draft slot position in three consecutive drafts. The 2018 to 2020 Toronto Maple Leafs are that team.— Byron Bader (@ByronMBader) May 9, 2021From their draft position they should have drafted five NHLers total in those three drafts. They're expected to have nine.— Byron Bader (@ByronMBader) May 9, 2021

At the time of the 2015 draft, Mat Barzal had a higher likelihood of becoming a star than Zboril did of becoming an NHLer. Zboril, of course, was taken three spots ahead of Barzal. I imagine the Bruins would love a do over on that selection. pic.twitter.com/XLTr7CSSYs— Byron Bader (@ByronMBader) June 6, 2021

Generally pretty accurate. Hard to separate the rough development paths post draft (Buffalo, Edmonton) but the really good players just overcome that obstacle.

Likewise here, as I understand it. But how accurate? *shrug*

Rodion Amirov posted a video this morning of him working on his shot w/ Leafs dev staff, and I’m really impressed with the progression. Lower body mechanics have been revamped. pic.twitter.com/jlCfQCRVlk— Josh Simpson (@joshsimpson77) June 16, 2021
