Corey Schneider on the move?

That's a hefty price to pay for a guy who, while highly touted, hasn't really proven anything at the NHL level and is being shopped in what is still a fairly weak trade market for goalies. That's more than the Caps got for Varlamov (in what was declared among the worst moves of the summer) - and Varlamov's numbers are very comparable to Schneider's, has more NHL experience (both regular season and playoffs) and is 2 years younger. If that's the asking price, Schneider isn't going anywhere.

It's certainly not a price I'd pay for him. Even if the player who can help Vancouver immediately is just a back-up goalie the first would be banking on Schneider being able to step right in and take the team to a point where the first isn't super-valuable.
