Cleveland 115 Golden State 101. Series tied 3 games to 3.
Who could have predicted this. That the Cleveland Cavaliers became the third team in NBA history to come from behind a 3 games to 1 deficit in the Finals and force a Game 7
Thanks to Cavs leader LeBron James who garnered his second straight 40+ point performance, and the rest of his teammates, who, well, simply played brilliant as a team. James seemed virtually unstoppable, with contributions from Irving, Smith, and Toronto-born Tristan Thompson with another strong game (18 pts., 10 rebounds).
While the Warriors looked like a disheveled bunch in the early start, with Draymond Green back in the lineup after serving a suspension, and Andre Bogut out with an injury, Golden State eventually found it's groove mostly with Curry & Klay Thomoson doing their stuff. But without much help from the rest of their teammates, and Steph Curry incurring foul trouble, not much indeed did go right for the Warriors.
Curry's frustrations mounted after fouling out late in the fourth quarter, so much so, that he threw his mouthpiece at some Cleveland fan (after much taunting). Warriors coach Steve Kerr wasn't at all impressed with Curry being handed six fouls, three of which were questionnable:
"He gets six fouls called on him, three of them were absolutely ridiculous," Kerr said. "As the MVP of the league, we're talking about these touch fouls in the NBA Finals. I'm happy he threw his mouthpiece."Whatever.
Cleveland Cavs can make history Sunday should they win in Game 7. They will become the only team in the Finals to complete their accomplishments. As for Golden State should they lose...
Game 7 is slated for Sunday in Oakland.
