One of the greats.

I didn't realize he played guitar on "Beat It" by Micheal Jackson.

Well, comparatively maybe.  I was 6 when Beat It came out, so my understanding of who was playing what at the time was less developed.  My gateway in to hard rock ( or glam rock, or hair metal, whatever you want to call it) was Guns N' Roses with the Use You Illusions albums and then I sort of went backwards from there.

Never was a huge Van Halen fan but I appreciate the greatness of Eddie. Taken way too soon. RIP

My dad was a massive Van Halen fan, by far his fav band. He'd play their stuff every chance he'd get. At 65 he wasn't exactly old either, I think he just had some bad luck with tongue and throat cancer. What can you do? I'm drinking a beer and listening to 1984 now.
