On paper the Leafs look like this is a good time to play Tampa.  In reality I fully expect playoff shenanigans to help level things out when Tampa gets away with murder.

On a side note, who the heck designed the Leafs schedule down the stretch.  5 sets of back to backs in March/April.  Play 4 games in 6 nights 3 times in March/April.  Play 8 games in the final 13 days of the schedule include finishing the final four games in 6 nights with the final three games on the road.

Seems like a pretty standard approach lately.   Hide behind religion.  Lie about the stuff you don't like.  Nothing says I stand behind my beliefs like waiting until other people get away or hit before doing it yourself.  Such strong conviction.

I can see a scenario where if McDavid is chasing 2000 points at the end of the career, that is the main storyline that the NHL wants to run with when it comes to a Matthews-McDavid comparison, but if he isn't close, and Matthews is poised to eclipse 900 goals, I think that Matthews becomes the bigger headline.

What's even better is when Matthew's 900th goal as a Leaf is assisted by McDavid's 2000th career point with the Leafs on a late power play.

I think my bigger fear with Woll is going to be his health.  He just had some many issues that I'd be leery of him staying healthy but he seems like more of a positionally sound goaltender.

Sparks was all over the net.  Honestly not all that different from watching Mrazek in net last year.

Murray's inability to stay healthy makes me lean more towards keeping Samsonov and trying to move Murray but these last 12 games/the playoffs will probably be the best way to make an assessment of that.  What Samsonov would want in an extension might also play a role.  If we can get Samsonov and Woll in as a tandem for less than Murray's 4.6M that would go a long way to helping our forward depth with a lot of our bottom 6 needing to be rebuilt.
