I think the only player dying to be a Buffalo Sabre was Tim Horton.

So the Sabres made Eichel sit at home with a serious untreated injury for an additional 3 or so months for nothing (on top of the few months he sat at home wanting this surgery prior to the summer). Good luck with the whole attracting players thing.
