Didn't really follow these teams too closely in the first round. Although Nashville beat Colorado in the regular season, when I saw Rittich was their starting goalie for Game 1, the sweep and pile of goals didn't surprise me at all. St. Louis is deep. If anyone can give Colorado a run, they can. Also, Colorado has lost in the second round three years in a row, so they have that history to contend with. All that being said, I am going to go Colorado in 6. If it goes 7, I think St. Louis wins.
I think Colorado wins this year. Avs in 6
Colorado in 6. Suspect we'll see a slow start to the series for the Avs, but they're just miles better than the rest of the West.

I'm not sure what you call on that play.
I don't know what to call on that play either. Contact points were pretty okay (shoulder to side/shoulder), but exacerbated by Girard reaching forward and low to poke the puck. Not really into hitting someone 2-3 ft from the boards into said boards, but it's not like he was just blasting him in, he was establishing a forecheck. Very bad luck Girard's chest got driven into the top edge of the end boards.

Sportsnet and other outlets now reporting Binnington is done for the series after that collision.

Instead they're going to fine Kadri $5k for being in the water bottle's way.

I'm very curious to know how people think typing these things out and sending it is a righteous thing to do.
Going to overtime, and this time I'm pretty sure I'm right about that.

But the real story there is that is one heckuva draft by the Avalanche that year.

Well he definitely has a right to be pissed after Kadri ended his season.

When was the last time you saw a player throw something at another player post game?

Big friging deal, it was a water bottle. I don't follow every presser and don't care. I would be furious if it happened to me and again he has every right to be pissed. Kadri's lucky he didn't throw pucks or something that could actually do some damage.
Binnington has a history doing stupid things, he's a head case.

So after the game he's allowed to throw things at opposing players. Makes sense. No one is arguing he shouldn't be pissed if he felt Kadri was at fault... but I also disagree that this was Kadri's fault entirely. Goalies sometimes get injured and I don't recall any of them throwing a tantrum on camera toward an opposing player post game.

His injury is totally on Kadri. Biddington is a special kind of guy as we know. Kadri is lucky it wasn't Billy Smith or Hextall. He'd be getting a good chop at some point in a future game
That it was a water bottle (an empty water bottle) is immaterial. He had previously swing his goalie stick at Kadri's head too (and missed). There is intent behind Binnington's emotional outbursts.
Kind of weird for someone who justifies nearly every headshot as a clean hit to justify off-ice whiny revenge for a hockey play that led to an unintentional and unfortunate injury.

Justifying whiny revenge? Is that what you're calling it? I'm not justifying anything. I stand by what I said, He has every right to be pissed off and that it isn't a big deal.
There's a significant difference between that and swinging a stick at someone's head. And let's be clear, yes he swung his stick but it wasn't close to hitting him or anyone else. And before you start, I don't justify swinging sticks either. What was the intent of that and the empty water bottle? Scare him? Make him flinch? Think it made him laugh.
As far as justifying nearly every headshot as clean. No just the ones that are clean like Trouba's recently. That hit was a hockey play that led to an unintentional and unfortunate injury unlike Kadri's on Faulk in last year's playoffs that led to an 8 game suspension.
Is Binnington 2 years old? No. Then throwing stuff because you lost is unacceptable.
Is there is a fundamental difference between swinging a stick and throwing a water bottle sure. But they both come from the same base. Binnington has no ability to control his emotions and does erratic things. The reason he throws the water bottle is the same reason he swings his stick at players or tries to instigate events on the ice.
https://twitter.com/jprutherford/status/1531698580968329224
Like, he already acknowledges that the play that injured him was not intentional and just hockey.
Easy enough to focus on the specifics of the inherent danger of an empty bottle and a stick swing and a miss and dismiss it, but that's a swing and a miss of the point. Throwing something at people off ice is not hockey; swinging sticks at head level is not hockey. It's just a straight up intentional, emotional outburst through physical actions that easily scale extreme if unchecked, and giving Binnington a continual pass on this behaviour is shameful.
