That's the key for him going forward.

Quote from: hobarth on February 02, 2023, 10:41:20 PMTO doesn't finish top 5 every year, it finishes top 16, if by some miracle TO could progress beyond the 1st round in the playoffs then we could say TO has finished in the top 8

The NHL playoffs haven't worked that way for 10 years. The current format offers no insight into how the team would fare outside of the division.

There are a bunch of ways to try and answer that question. If you're not comfortable with the regular season's rankings, the NHL does try to account for that when they come up with their draft rankings, which placed the Leafs at #8 the last two years.

Quote from: L K on Yesterday at 03:35:33 PMUnless the NHL pays the players a bot load to try harder I don't think you can fix the all-star game.  It's pretty much unwatchable
The 3 on 3 isn't too bad but it's never going to be more then a scrimmage because no one wants to get hurt.
But these guys are loaded with skill, show it. Last night's shootout challenge wasn't much of a challenge. No gimmicky crap just come in and show us a move or two.Im glad I was out and recorded the skills fiasco last night...made for a quick zip through when I got home.

Marlies & Prospect Talk / Re: Ranking Prospects 2022-202...

Went to the Marlies game last night and gotta say Holmberg can flat out fly. McMann too. They've got some pretty good prospects down there. Steeves(2 Goals last night) is a nice player and really liked Rifai's game on D. I wonder if they sign him to a contract next season. SDA is probably their best puck carrier/passer. He does everything at top speed.
Woll looks different this season. He looks so poised in the net and very quick for a big guy. Oh and he won again stopping 25 of 26 shots bringing his record to 13-1-0 2.36GAA, .930SV%.

Quote from: princedpw on February 02, 2023, 05:09:27 PMI really just want the leaves to trade for an extra Nylander.  One to play in the top 6 and one to generate offense on the 3rd line. If Tavares or Matthews is hurt in the playoffs, one of the Nylander plays with Kerfoot on the 2nd line.

Is there an extra Nylander we could trade for? (Is that Kane?)

I would trade Knies+ for Nikolaj Ehlers

Me too. But not sure why the Jets would move him? They're either first or second in their division.
