Yeah great Pelley, so you can this guy that actually oversaw a championship team in both MLSE and CFL, but Shanahan 10 years of nothing, no problem!

Shanny is next.

Gonna read into this so much

Not interested in a life guru who's a serial cheater. Good luck, hopefully your drafts age better than faux internet wisdom.

Yeah, I don't think they did too badly. I'd have probably tried something else but I guess my thought is it's easy to just whatabout every deal except we really have little inside knowledge about all the different variables that go into making a decision on both GM and agent/player side. Their primary signing targets weren't that far off of what most people thought they needed. I'm left still wondering about the forwards a bit though...

Day ruined.

Pain.

At least it's nice to know Treliving is taking swings on good pitches, even if it misses a bit.

It is interesting that we just assume GMs are dumb and didn't try to address issues and had to fall back on the 2nd or 3rd option.

Didn't even think we had SDA's rights anymore.

Really would only want Brown. The rest look like not great signings imo.

DeBrusk asked plenty of times to be traded. Robertson was paying his due and the Leafs still hold his rights even if he sits out so whatever.
It's not whatever. Kid can shoot the puck and hes an asset. I think if he gets a good chance under Berube he'll be good for the team or as a trading chip. Like herman points out often, goalies don't handle his shot clean a lot of the time. Would love to see him get a chance in the top 6.

It is whatever in the sense that he has no leverage. He can say what he wants but ultimately he's not gonna want to sit out out of spite.

I'm not liking this team until we get a bona fide 3C who can fill in at 2C if needed. At this point it's not happening.

Quote from: Bender on July 01, 2024, 09:00:40 AMAlso, where and what the hell is Sachse?

It's apparently a suburb of a suburb of Dallas. Like... Stouffville to Toronto.

I was gonna say I looked up the distance and it's like Aurora-ish. Man they aren't even trying to compare apples to apples anymore.

Marner - 221GP 91G 190A 281P  (17P in 18 playoff games) 34G 70A 104P/82GP

I don't think it's entirely a fair comparison to look at their numbers BUT it continues the trend of Leafs players getting what they are worth while other teams are seeing some discounts on their players.

T__T

It's a problem but it hasn't stopped players from playing in other expensive markets.

Quote from: Joe on July 01, 2024, 08:39:53 AMYeah but then you're living in Texas.

And the state recuperates the lack of income tax revenue in other ways (property taxes, esp)

Also the sunbelt is about to be consumed by floods, hurricanes, and deadly humidity

Also, where and what the hell is Sachse?

The Leafs are overpaying, they are not paying fair value.

Quote from: Bullfrog on June 30, 2024, 10:03:14 PMI'd take Bertuzzi over Domi in a heartbeat as a player, but not for over $5M. That's just too much for what he brings.

I really don't see much of a difference between the two. At least Domi can stand in reasonably for Marner and get Matthews some goals.

Mouthpiece

I'm not paying anywhere near what he's asking for a goal scorer who doesn't really score.
