NHL Transactions / Re: Iginla Traded to Boston

A lot of Boston fans consider Khokhlachev their top prospect. Put up big numbers in the OHL a couple years back, utilizing creativity and a quick release on offense.

Bartowski on the other hand doesn't look to be developing. Probably a depth defender at best.

Flames fans can't be happy with the return.

Just checked the standings, and I can't believe Montreal is still racking up points. Blows my mind after seeing their two performances against Toronto.

It looks like Trevor Kidd still takes part in charity games. Presumably as a participant and not a recipient.

Where's JS Aubin?

Posting a wicked 1.78 GAA and 93.3%...in Italy.

We could always see what Olaf Kolzig is up to.

Undefeated in his first stint as a Leaf.

How about Brent Johnson as a temporary backup? Free agent, not playing overseas, posted decent numbers two seasons ago, veteran experience. Him and Roloson are the only two off the top of my head that make any sense to me.

Angriest I've been was when we gave up a 5-0 lead in the third period to lose 6-5 in overtime to the Blues in 2000. Not sure why that bugged me more than the Tucker/Alfie incident; probably because I knew we had another shot against them.

Leafs Rumours & Speculation / Re: Luongo

I can see Luongo ending up in Columbus. They need a goalie and something to get their fans somewhat excited again. Luongo would also probably do better in a smaller marker. It actually makes a lot of sense.

I can't imagine Columbus is in the mix after they gave up three draft picks (2nd, 3rd, 4th, if I recall correctly) over the summer for Bobrovsky. Steep price for a backup.

What does it mean when we have a lot of depth defensemen but nothing in the upper water column?  The ocean doesn't work like that.

When you're building a house, first you have to dig out and lay the foundation. Or something like that. I don't know. There's many fish in the sea? There's water at the bottom of the ocean?

Or are we burning down the house?

I just voted for you.  It's actually a very nice looking logo, I really liked it! :)

My wife was born in Whitehorse so practically neighbours.

Ha! Although people in less remote places wouldn't understand, you are absolutely right. Anchorage and Whitehorse are about all we have!

Thanks again, folks.

Non-Hockey Chatter / Help me with an online competition?
February 24, 2012, 09:36:47 PM
A design I created is a finalist for a logo competition for the Midnight Sun Festival, the largest event of the year here in Fairbanks, Alaska. I'm up against some professional artists and long-time community members so I need a little help to win this popularity contest.

Please consider taking a second to like or comment (which counts as a vote) on my design at this Facebook link.

For those curious, the imagery in the logo is of the plaza at the heart of town where the festival is set. The lines in the back represent the river, as well as guitar strings for the live music.

Thanks! Sorry if this is considered spam; I'd prefer it to be considered shameless groveling from a longtime member.
