What did Giggy sign for in Colorado?
$1.25M

Why didn't Burke want to keep him around again?

With the virtual cornucopia of young goalies in his system, why would he?

Also Giggy was almost Connolly-esque with his 'lower body' problems.

You can say it, he had problems in the junk area.

I always thought he came across as a little testy

I'm kicking myself for having missed Mumford and Sons last month. Would have loved to have seen them live.

Who would you give me for Auld?

Peter Ing. Throw in a dozen beaver tails and we'll also give you Allan Bester. Or maybe Mark Laforest. Your pick.

I don't know about you guys but I'm glad the Flyers are doing it. I hope every team that plays against a 1-3-1 team pulls this.
Right now there is no rule I can find against this type of delay as long as the puck is moving.

Whatever. PL should be embarrassed of himself. "I'm not going to play if you're going to make it too hard for me to score". This is a professional coach we're talking about here.

Then why doesn't Tampa just forecheck them then?

I don't have a problem with it.  I can't stand the trap.

I agree. It's a tie game and Tampa is waiting in the neutral zone. They can come get the puck if they want it; I see no problem with PL's tactic.

And the trap is an embarassment.

Marlies & Prospect Talk / Re: Joe Colborne

I really hope we let Colborne spend most, if not all, of the season with the Marlies. He's only just starting to excel, let's not rush this development.

Yep we better get better coaching and systems.

Oh and maybe a #1 goalie. Oh and a backup as well. And a #1 centre.

Really I can't disagree that a new coach might solve some of the team's problems but if you think a new coach can take last night's roster into the playoffs you're crazier than Eddie Belfour after a keg party.

I can't help but think that Wilson (or any coach with a similar record to his since he's been here) in another market would already be a distant memory.

The only areas where there have been no changes are the coach, GM,the annoying organist, and the guy who sells beer in our section. My bet is that the organist is the next target (his inability to motivate through snippets of music are the root cause of the special team failures). The beer guy is the only untouchable. ;D

Brian Burke makes a bold statement before the season begins by canning some assistant coaches, apparently as some sort of message that coaching will be held accountable now, but the guy on top gets away unscathed.  He can't keep turning the team over and over again.  At some point you have to make a head coaching change.

The team is near the top of the standings depsite having their "#1" centre and #1 goalie injured for 50%+ of their games (Oh and add Army in there too if you like).

I understand there are serious fundamental problems with the club and, personally, I can't really stand Ron Wilson, but why should he be held accountable now, of all times?

Well, Turco isn't playing so I think in this case he'd prefer to backup in the NHL than start in a weekly mens league.

Personally I think Turco is an interesting choice because A) he comes cheaply, B) he will have chosen to be in a reduced role (and not forced) and C) it's a chance to audition for a contract next year.

Lupul... First Leaf

since Sittler in 1980 to score 3 on the road?  :o

Not sure where you got that from, but that's not true.

The stat Floyd meant was for scoring a hat trick on the road in one period.

I think Frattin needs to go down. I feel like its a D'Amigo parallel when he was in the AHL last year. He needs to score some to get his confidence back. I honestly think he's a bit of an anchor on the third line right now. Its almost expected that he wont score.

It would also allow them to revamp the 3rd line a bit, which hasn't been very good lately.

I like the idea of keeping Lombardi on the wing and Steckel at centre.

Lombardi     Steckel          Kadri
Brown         Bozak            Frattin/Dupuis

That was Carpenter's second World Series with St. Louis.

And considering the circumstances under which he left the club I don't know why a Blue Jays fan would be overly inclined to cheer him on to anything.

There's a loud knocking noise in my trunk. How do I get her to stop?

Signed,
Frustrated in Milton

This is a typical issue for those that live in Milton.

It's probably her bouncing around in the trunk.  Deflate her, then put her back in the box she came in.  Should fix it.

Tired that, but she just got angry. Your mom is REALLY weird.

Frank's was better ;)

I have been building and researching a number of different vehicles.

Suspects:

1. Honda Accord EX

2. Toyota Camry (standard pkg)

3. Hyundai Sonata 2.0

4. Ford Edge

5. Chevy Equinox

I like driving SUV/ 'truckier' type vehicles but drive alot for work so would also like fuel efficiency. Should a V6 engine be manditory if I get an SUV?
