Little late here, but a bit of an update. They played their 1st 3 home games in Conception Bay South (about 30-40 minute drive from Mile One). Both sides kissed and made up somewhat in November. They have played 19 home games so far, but at least 3 or 4 were played without fans.

The team struggled on a recent road trip with 7-8 players ending up in COVID protocols. They started to get player back at the end of their recent homestand, sweeping 4 games vs Maine. They sit 2nd in the North Division with a couple of games in hand. Standings will be based on points % as teams will not have equal # of games played.

MLB moving the All-Star Game to Denver. Home Run Derby should be interesting in the mile high air.

Would have been 45 today. He had put in a lot of work to get sober and stay sober. Had also just started a new job about 2-3 months ago. My condolences to his kids Madison and Sam.

If they view Trent Jr as a younger version of Powell, then this is a good move from a salary cap perspective. Norm would be UFA at the end of the season and in line for a bigger payday than what the Raptors could work with. They are about 5 mil away from paying the luxury tax and have not typically been a team to spend over the tax line.

Raptors did not need Harden. Personally don't think he would be a good fit. The spot that they need help is in the post. Baynes is starting to find his groove, but they still need another option.

The focus is on Davison's health but the Marlies forfeited the game and take a loss.  Good for the organization to support the team in that move.  Hopefully Davison is ok.  Usually we get one of those "still in hospital but stable" kind of updates after things like this.

Marlies did not take a forfeit here. The game got rescheduled to March 2nd, just before the AHL suspended play. Marlies won 3-2.

Not as bad as Oakland which stopped paying minor league players as of May 31st. Seems like both tems have reversed course on those decisions.

They have been shafted big time by the Super League. Started with 23 players because of salary cap issues. That's 2 short of a normal roster. No piece of the TV deal, and no access to government relief.

You aren't the only one. I was having a difficult time of it until the UFC and NASCAR started back up a couple weeks ago. Also been checking out some German soccer since they started back up, as Sportsnet moved it off Sportsnet World. Like seeing NHL and NBA on the road back, but have little hope that MLB and their player's union will get their stuff in order in time to save a 2020 season.

UFC 250 tonight at the UFC's APEX facility in Vegas. Canadian Felicia Spencer fights Amanda Nunes for the 145 pound title in the main event. 1st Canadian to get a titles shot since GSP won the 185 pound title when he defeated Michael Bisping.

Little bit late catching up, but have to say I'm a little jealous. Madrid is on my travel bucket list.

So on Saturday night just past I went to see Real Madrid v Valencia in the Santiago Bernabeu. What an incredible sporting arena and experience. Incredible atmosphere.

Also did the tour of the stadium and their trophy room is something else

Well,  it's been awhile since that heartbreaking loss in the CONCACAF Champions League Cup Final that TFC has been discussed or written about

As it stands, Toronto FC are in second spot in the East but fifteen points back of first place Columbus Crew. TFC played this same Crew team to a 3-3 tie yesterday at BMO Field here in Toronto.  Even though Toronto took a 3-0 lead at one point, they couldn't hang on to victory as Columbus scored three back to tie the game up (the tying goal on a penalty kick).

2nd in the East??? What have you been smoking. TFC is 10th in the East and Atlanta, not Columbus, are in first. TFC is 18 points behind Atlanta but just 8 out of the playoffs.

With Dubas moving up to be Leafs GM, who takes his role now as Marlies GM?

Typically the assistant GM of the NHL parent holds the title of GM on the farm. Given the current front office that would be Brandon Pridham or Lawrence Gilman. My thought would probably be Pridham as Gilman would like be the salary cap guy.

They have announced their name, logo, and colours. The team will be known as the Newfoundland Growlers. http://www.nlgrowlers.com/

Schedule is out as well, very heavy on Brampton and the New England teams. https://www.echl.com/stats/schedule/89/48/all-months/homeaway?league=1
