I do not see how they can stand pat with 9 NHL dmen and Benn having cleared waivers for a 10th and Mete on LTIR. They're not done. Dubas would normally have had a press scrum. I wonder if his silence is because something else is going to happen and he did not want to field questions until it was done.

At first blush, this trade definitely felt like Nick Foligno + Riley Nash 2.0
The trade is headlined by a hometown rental with acclaim, and tagging along is a shutdown sidekick that has been on the other side of playoff series that have suffocated our offense.

Noel Acciari was courted this past offseason, but they had to settle for Aube-Kubel. He has revitalized Aston-Reese's game (it's more fun to have a buddy who will steamroll with you), given Kerfoot more purpose in this lineup, and set a higher floor for our 4th line. I hope he gets a chance to get in some good revenge games against Boston in the postseason.
