Morning skate is underway, it appears no Nick Foligno present.
— David Alter (@dalter) May 24, 2021
Apart from Foligno, everyone else from Game 2 is here. As far as Foligno goes...the broadcast did show Foligno walking gingerly to the dressing room at the end of the game. Presumably we'll find out more after the skate.

Cole Caufield replaces an injured Eric Staal in the #habs lineup for Game 3.

No way Nash goes C2. I think Kerfoot goes there.
Here's what Sheldon Keefe had to say on Nick Foligno early this afternoon. Playoffs. pic.twitter.com/xhP3MR90Xl

Shorty coming up.Two. Dream big.
That shouldn’t have been icing
I’m really amazed at how mediocre the commentary is from Simpson/Cuthbert. It’s such a flat broadcast for a playoff gameIt's Simpson. Cuthbert is good.
Gotta one time that.I don't think he could.
PP Unit 2 looked much more dangerous there. Habs did a great job at clogging the passing lanes against the first unit.
This team really has problems with over passing, Jesus. Just get it on net and get some chaos in front of Price.
Marner is sucking the life out of the PP on that side.Yup.. Brutal
Marner is sucking the life out of the PP on that side.I've said this for a while now, he needs to get off PP1. I'd switch him with Nylander.
Is Marner injured? Haven't seen him in 3 games.
Marner is sucking the life out of the PP on that side.Yup.. Brutal
No Rielly on the PP.. He couldn't take a pass from Matthews on that last PP for a turnover.Marner is sucking the life out of the PP on that side.Yup.. Brutal
Yeah take him off and put sandin with Rielly or Nylander.
Keep him on the PK for now.
Marner is in his own head. Making too many moves and skating out of chances
Gally tip?
Marner is in his own head. Making too many moves and skating out of chancesAs Jeff O'Neill says he doesn't have to be a 10.5 million dollar player every shift... Just play..

Montreal with just 8 shots halfway through the game.

Jack looks really good. Following the play well and engaged despite a quiet night so far
It was only a matter of time before that happened. The Leafs were giving up a lot of looks off the rush like that. That wasn't much of a chance. The Leafs have been pressing way way more all this period.
Not happy with that goal on all counts.
Why are these games close? The Habs are garbage.

Damn. Jack has been so good. That's 2..2nd goal in 1st game wasn't good.
I know they say never blame the goalie, but I'm blaming the goalie. He's got to stop that.
Reilly....I heard on Leafs Lunch he has 1 PP goal in 2 seasons...and he consistently passes up opportunities to shoot - twice so far this game alone.

Anyone else you want me to diss??
I would LOVE to know what Kerfoot did to Skilliter.
Mo redeems himselfRedeems himself for what? That goal wasn't on him.
Great job waiting out Price

He’s gotta be Skilliter’s daughter’s ex or something

No kidding, that's at least 2 where he just said Nah Alex nah.
Price has been amazing, dammit. He was crap on Rielly's
Have we determined that Chiarot is a d-bag?
Because Chiarot is a d-bag.

That’s a big save from Price at the end of the period
If the Leafs are on the PP and the play was already going to be an offensive zone face off why does it come out of the zone?
Good, now burn 'em.
I understand wanting Nylander on PP2 for balance reasons, but how do you not put him out there with less than a minute left in the period?
That's whyIf the Leafs are on the PP and the play was already going to be an offensive zone face off why does it come out of the zone?
I’m going to guess because the defenseman came down into the scrum. But that’s just a guess, I don’t know.

Getting tired about hearing how great Price is. They need to put two or three more past him in the third. A lot of his saves are a result of good positioning, but that glove save off Matthews at the end was pretty good.

Highest impact one would be Marner since he plays 25 min

The commentators never miss an opportunity to genuflect but Rielly's goal aside he's been really good. This should be 4 or 5 to 1.

5G 8P in the 8 games of the last two playoffs for NylanderHe's bringing it..I agree with the panel.. Put him on PP1

Definitely. Take those opportune moments and load up that line.
Caufield does have a pretty spicy wrister.
Oh thank God. I was worried they forgot how awesome Caulfield is.It’s becoming quite annoying. Like seriously....every shift? Enough already
I don’t like how defensive they have been all period....but they are structured amd that’s nice to see
This is brutal. Forecheck a bit please!Afraid of getting caught up ice

Some tense stuff there but the Leafs were not giving Montreal space there. This is by far the best positional defense this iteration of the team has played
Caufield does have a pretty spicy wrister.
The hype around him from the talking heads is definitely a little much, but the dude's gonna be a great player. I approve of Montreal's coach not wanting that to happen right now.

So.... are we coming back with Jack?I would. You think Montreal is playing Allen?

So there's your answer. Let's see if Campbell is good to go first.So.... are we coming back with Jack?I would. You think Montreal is playing Allen?
I don’t think there is any chanceof that at all. Price is playing very well
So.... are we coming back with Jack?I wouldn't hesitate to play Campbell again tomorrow. If Foligno still can't play, I'd like to see Brooks in for Nash too.

Brooks is really green to be thrown straight into a playoff game when we have Riley Nash.So.... are we coming back with Jack?I wouldn't hesitate to play Campbell again tomorrow. If Foligno still can't play, I'd like to see Brooks in for Nash too.
I thought Riley Nash was really strong PKing tonight.

Sheldon Keefe said Nick Foligno thought he was going to be okay to play, but ultimately after getting on the ice felt he would be hurting the team if he did fight through the injury.

Keefe says Foligno is a game-time decision for tomorrow.
Price confirmed to start tomorrow. Keefe says our starter is still TBA.Up to Jack
Sheldon Keefe says ultimately the decision about whether Jack Campbell starts again in Game 4 will depend on his health and energy levels tomorrow

No argument from me about that. Just more I’d like to give Brooks a chance more than wanting Nash out.So.... are we coming back with Jack?I wouldn't hesitate to play Campbell again tomorrow. If Foligno still can't play, I'd like to see Brooks in for Nash too.

I think it will depend on Foligno again. If he continues to use Engvall with Mikheyev and Simmonds I could see him reuniting Brooks with Spezza and Thornton. No argument from me about that. I’d take Thornton out. Thornton-Spezza-Simmons is too slow and defensively problematic. Spezza is great. Simmons I can understand his role. Sorry Joe. Take a seat tomorrow.

Spezza looks 25 again. Thornton looks like he couldn't even keep up in Beer League.Ya Treebeard is moving like a true Ent.

Spezza, yes. He is amazing. Thornton, no. Thornton is not winning any offensive zone puck battles, turns the puck over, is slow getting back on defense, is not creating offense, has no impact on the power play. His intangibles had really better be through the roof somehow.
