Lambert traditionally has covered Forwards + PK (kind of weird)
Van Ryn was on even strength Defense deployment last season.
Marc Savard did PP for Berube and Calgary most recently. One presumes he would also be overseeing face off set plays.

Not sure it's that weird. PK consists of 2 forwards and 2 defence (typically.) They have equal and important roles.

Usually it's Forwards/PP and Defense/PK but turns out a decent number of teams have Forwards/PK and Defense/PP

Quote from: Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington on Yesterday at 06:19:04 PMWhat's the difference between an associate coach and an assistant coach?

Slightly higher salary band and 'authority'. Usually former head coaches get an associate position instead of traditional assistant role, in recognition of their previous experience and circumstance.

Essentially, the pool of former head coaches (who are still active in ability and ambition) has outgrown the available positions so there is an ecological niche of formerly well paid bench bosses that are waiting in the wings. The team pays a bit more for the stronger experience/resume. Makes them a bit harder to poach except for actual upward moves to head coaching again.

Did it take so long because he was looking for a head coaching gig?

Edit: someone mentioned maybe the Markstrom trade talks were a factor

Holmberg is a Swedish Connor Brown (without the junior accolades riding shotgun to a Connor McDavid). He's another guy I think fits in better with a Berube style vs Keefe's. He's not far removed from being a 1LW on an SHL championship squad and has some clutchiness for ugly goals.

And I have to wait like another 5 days for trades and signings to finally get registered.
