Pathetic way to limp into the playoffs. I feel sorry for anyone who paid for tickets today.

I'm not sold on Ryu. He has his good games, but he has baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad ones too. It's funny, a year ago I was saying the same about Kikuchi, and he's turned it around and is pitching pretty well now. Bassitt, Berrios and Gausman are all fantastic. It's our mid and closing pitching that is the most susceptible. Romano's been terrible the last few games he pitched, but that should right itself hopefully.

For me, and I guess for coaches, I'm weighting recent goaltending performance of greater importance than long term samples. I'd save that level of evaluation for general managers determining what cap hit and term they're negotiating towards. It is also very hard to divorce goaltending performance (and scorekeeper bias) from the players and system in front of them

Doesn't work that way. A post doesn't count as a shot so he wasn't beaten 10 times. With that logo e you should count shits that are wide that "beat" him.

100% agree.

The tricky part is that goalie performance requires a large sample size to avoid jumping to conclusions, and based on recent analysis

a full season isn't even close to enough to characterize a goalie (let alone a few pre-season games).

The goalposts & crossbars is just a reminder that Jones' true ability level might be very different than what we've seen so far, due to small sample sizes alone.

Quote from: Bender on Yesterday at 02:12:13 PMRyu is terrible.

Ryu was a very important part of the rotation when he returned in August and through the middle of September, whrre he had a stretch of 8 starts with a 2.04 ERA.

With Manoah's terrible year and the lack of any minor league rotation depth, I'm not sure the jays are in the playoffs without him.
