Game is gone, extreme violence investment in the 3rd, try to injure every player you hit, it'll wear on them later in the series.

This kind of effort will get them swept.

Hopefully Reaves ends Marchand's career along the way.

Lilleberg and Liljegren are giving the TNT pbp guy a MAJOR problem.

Quote from: cw on March 08, 2024, 07:31:59 PMOnce again, at a glance, the NHL UFA market doesn't look that hot to me.
Freeing up a contract slot makes lots of sense.

They have to go hard at the NCAA and beating the bushes for UFAs in Europe, etc to make up for the lack of draft picks.
About 10% of the NHL is made up of undrafted players.
In recent years, Leafs have been active with this.
Hopefully, their scouts are all over it.

They've been courting the top Russian guy in the KHL.

That'd leave them another slot for whichever college/OHL overager they want, or they sign the big unit they traded for the other day, Cade.

Take a swing Bradley.

Quote from: bustaheims on March 08, 2024, 11:22:35 AMCarolina has a fairly veteran roster - not old, but not a lot of guys who haven't been around the league for a few years already - so, I don't see that as a concern.

I hope you're right and I hope the Eagle has figured it out.

The trade return suggests there is still a concern, but perhaps it was just a bridge that had been burned.

Quote from: WhatIfGodWasALeaf on March 08, 2024, 11:08:22 AMYeah, Tulsky is a ruthless market inefficiency guy. Buy assholes low, sure, but this one seems more risky than a boneheaded Trumper.

This problem child feels like a better fit for what they need, especially if he can keep his blowhole closed more than he has previously. He's probably not the only guy on the roster who partakes - I get the impression it's not an unusual thing around the league, but most guys have it more under control. Feels less likely to cause friction with his teammates the way a deluded Trumphole would (and, most likely, has, considering he found himself on waivers yesterday, hasn't performed, and hasn't been in the lineup on a regular basis).

That's fair in terms of culture.

I know it's common, I have family who work in Toronto's VIP nightlife industry.

I'd just be wary of his influence on younger guys in terms of it potentially becoming a bigger issue.

Carolina hasn't exactly been shy picking up players with pretty obvious red flags lately.

Caps eating half that salary to get rid of him.

Quote from: azzurri63 on March 07, 2024, 10:31:28 PMSo I am at an event. Broken jaw for Knies is that what happened and someone tried going after Marchand? Domi but he turtled?

No, the expectation is it's a minor injury for Knies, he was held out as a precaution.

I am suggesting Reaves should have broken Marchand's jaw with a sucker punch in retaliation.

Quote from: WhatIfGodWasALeaf on March 07, 2024, 09:52:39 PMCan someone let Reaves know what his job is?
Stop it..no one is fighting Reaves and he's thrown his weight around tonight.

No, he's a hired gun, doesn't matter if he has a willing opponent.

Marchand injured Knies, sucker punch him and break his jaw.

They're going to destroy the Bruins in the first round the way they used to do it to the Sens after getting dummied all year in the regular season.

Don't anyone dare suggest otherwise.
