Ok Blue Jays Talk / Re: 2020 MLB Thread
« on: February 05, 2020, 09:58:54 AM »
this is mostly speculation.

feel free to poke holes in my theory...

but  Maybe Mookie Betts  won't be that good a hitter
if he doesn't know what pitch is coming ahead of time?

Why isn't the board investigating the MOTM thread voting results? All bad info!

thanks for the info ...

Capfriendly had Leafs at 50/50 for a while
but its back down to 49/50

That makes 50 contracts.

So if Neuvirth gets healthy and impresses Leafs will have
to make a trade before signing him

Main Leafs Hockey Talk / Leafs Cap situation
« on: September 16, 2019, 11:24:49 AM »
So if I plug in the guaranteed guys into our roster
and leave Hyman and Dermott on regular IR  then
I can't get under the cap  with 20 players....

But as far as I understand it both Hyman
and Dermott are out long enough that they
could be put on LTIR  .....

Then maybe the Leafs could carry 22 guys?

Is this what we expect them to do?

If not how will the Leafs be cap compliant?

Subban or Sparks will be on waivers   :)

If Neuvirth makes the team  I expect Hutchinson to be claimed
by someone else....

There are a lot of unknown ( to me ) backups pencilled in
at this point

What about the Islanders?

Lou signed him to the contract in the first place.

Go Leafs Go!

Columbus now only has a 3rd round pick and a 7th round pick in 2019

The rest are gone.

So does anybody think they'll trade Gardiner?  The path to re-signing him is pretty narrow.

They won't trade Gardiner.  They know he is going but they will keep him thru the playoffs.

Just like Bozak and JVR last year.

As far as I can tell the Red Wings have absolutely no cap space right now so they couldn't take Zaitsev unless they trade similar salary to the Leafs

NHL Transactions / Brassard goes to the Panthers

Not sure why Dicky Clune is not a go.

Clune is an overager for the AHL.

from AHL FAQ
In the AHL, player development is a top priority. The American Hockey League and the
Professional Hockey Players’ Association have the following development rule in place:

Of the 18 skaters (not counting two goaltenders) that teams may dress for a game, at
least 13 must be qualified as “development players.” Of those 13, 12 must have played in
260 or fewer professional games (including AHL, NHL and European elite leagues), and
one must have played in 320 or fewer professional games. All calculations for
development status are based on regular-season totals as of the start of the season.
