Would love to grab Brad Lambert.

There are some Kapanen vibes from Lambert. All speed, no brains
Granted his current team is extremely not suited to his style, apparently.

Edit: but also

Mmhmm, just like that time Patrik Laine was placed above Auston Matthews :)

Truly you can’t have enough generational centres.

I love how people just throw around the term "generational" like it's old hat.

It's a tough challenge. Should they go for another generational centre, or maybe grab a generational winger?

I go with the centre over the winger when it comes to the 1st overall pick but I don't think this debate is as absurd as the Matthews/Laine one.

Although as an aside I did not realize that his coach was former Leaf Luca Caputi.

Some Habs fans I've spoken to have suggested Wright's floor is like a Matt Duchene - which isn't exactly high praise but still feels like more optimistic than what I've gotten from the scouting reports on him. It's probably close to his likely outcome, but his floors feels more likely to be along the lines of RNH. In fact, this draft feels quite similar to the 2011 draft in that way. Slafkovsky probably ends up close to Landeskog, as well - a good physical winger with good offence, but not a gamebreaker. And, similar to the 2011 draft, the best player might end up being the guy who goes 3rd.

It's also, of course, worth mentioning that nobody will ever say "His floor is Nolan Patrick" because if that were seen as a legit possibility he wouldn't be in the running for the top pick.
I wish to hell I’d never said "Winning isn’t everything it’s the only thing". What I believe is, if you go out on a football field, or any endeavour in life, and you leave every fibre of what you have on the field, then you’ve won.

If Suzuki is “generational” then what is Nylander? Inter dimensional?

It’s quite amazing how the term “generational” (in its most frequent usage, anyway) has somehow gone from meaning very literally “once in a generation” to just “pretty good”.
