For the ones that don't need full threads, but you still want to dunk a little bit on it

Full trade is Ryan Dzingel from CAR to OTT for Alex Galchenyuk and Cedric Paquette. No salary retained.— Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) February 13, 2021

CarltonTheBear:
This actually seems like a decent trade for Ottawa. I remember a couple weeks ago wondering if Paquette could be a guy for the Leafs to look at come deadline time, so I looked up his stats and he's been absolutely dreadful for them so far. Galchenyuk seems pretty close to playing himself out of the league. Dzingel hasn't replicated his prior success with the sens since leaving but he should be better than those two.

bustaheims:
Carolina opens up some cap space here, while adding some depth (not a ton, but two mediocre players is more depth than one mediocre player, I guess). If Dzingel can get his numbers up in Ottawa, the sens might have added a piece for the deadline. Minor victories for both sides, potentially.

Makes you wonder what the Bennett ask is in Calgary.  Dzingle is an arguably better player and essentially garnered a 4th liner and a guy hanging onto his NHL career by a thread

Bennett is younger, cheaper, still under team control after this season, and better defensively. There?s not a ton of difference in their on-ice value, but the rest makes Bennett the more valuable asset.
