Tech Talk: Best Tablet to buy
« on: July 21, 2011, 12:54:18 PM »
I'm thinking of getting a tablet but admit to being confused about which one is the best. (Keeping in mind that the technology will be obsolete the second I buy it  :-\)

I really only want it for an easily mobile computer - not as a phone.

Any suggestions from our resident techies?

What specifically do you plan to do on it?  Browse, email, media, etc?

I'm thinking of using it more to replace a (heavier) laptop. So it would be used mostly for surfing, email and occasionally writing.

I have the first generation Ipad and a Zaggmate case, I could not recommend it much more, it's a total laptop killer for me.

The Zaggmate case is a total boss, has the same silver finish as the ipad so makes it look like the coolest laptop and when you sit it in the upright stand in the case, the case turns into a fully functioning qwerty keyboard, which if you use it for writing for relatively long periods, as I do, is a complete life saver.

If you're going to get an iPad, I'd recommend waiting a couple months - rumour is the iPad 3 could be coming in September.
