I still think that the Office is great. Not in the same class as Community, but a lot stronger than 30 Rock which last two seasons have been mediocre.

Yeah, I probably agree in the sense that I don't think there's much separating The Office and 30 Rock at this point. That said, for me, in order of quality it goes The Office, 30 Rock then a long ways to Community and then a much longer ways to Parks and Rec at the top.

If they're going to trade Kadri I'd much rather it be for something established.

Basically six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Tough to see Bautista get hurt, especially sliding into a base when he was out by 15 feet.

Also I feel it is starting to get to the point that:

What Cito is to Carlson; Farrell is to Perez.  Why is Perez always the first guy out of the pen.  Dotel is the best on the team with only 17% of his inherited runners scoring (9th in the AL), Camp and Rzepcinski are also in the top 20.  Perez...is not allowing just under 30%.

Also it is always nice when Bautista has to leave a game due to injury.

I think it probably had something to do with three of the next four hitters in the Yankee lineup batting lefty. Definitely don't want Dotel pitching in that situation.

I mean, at some point the whole "Jo Jo Reyes is a starting pitcher nonsense has to end, right?

Really Nik? Really?

You taking me literally?

Really?  :o

No. Both of those were jokes. I'm not much for smilies.

Defo doesn't rank up there, but, hey, if it helps them win a Cup, then why not?

Short of using one to strangle Tim Thomas I don't see how a jersey could do that.

Plus this should sell a boatload to the general public.

Great news for the scrappy young underdogs who own the team, I guess.

All due respect to the success the team had with those jerseys but that is hands down the fugliest Maple Leaf the team has worn.

8-0 Jays over the Yankees in the bottom of the first.

The NBA's position is even a bigger farce than the NHL's was in 2004. It's a position of little more than a more favourable CBA is the answer when you run your league like a bunch of money-drunk idiots.  It seems like nine out of every ten things they're looking for revolves around the fact that they give out ridiculous contracts and want it written into contracts that they can't.

Every awards show needs seat fillers.

I don't think I would mind it either, but I can't see it as likely...especially given what they're purportedly looking for - a (younger?) larger body that can win faceoffs...a 5'10" 35 year old...

A lot of people have talked about the team's interest in being young and why that's a reason to not sign player X but I have to say, if that is an accurate reflection of how the current staff is thinking it strikes me as really shortsighted. For a team with a bottom 6 as crummy as the Leafs have the idea of not having one spot available for a guy to provide veteran leadership just doesn't make sense to me. Especially on a team like the Leafs that has a number of guys who've had their attitudes questioned in the past.

(not directly specifically at you Omallley, just saying in general.)

That would make sense. I thought Parks and Rec. had higher ratings than it did.

Yeah, it's funny but most of NBC's thurday night comedies, 30 Rock, Community and Parks and Rec are good and do poorly while The Office is kind of weak but the only hit of the bunch. No accounting for taste, I suppose.

Yeah, I guess. But they already had all the usual suspects in The Office, 30 Rock, Glee, and Modern Family (Glee was also had a not-so-great season, and while I haven't watched the Office in years I haven't heard that many good things). I thought they could have replaced one of those "safe" picks with a show that still pretty popular and much funnier (in my opinion of course).

I'm guessing they just had the one spot for a show that doesn't do very well in the ratings but is a critical success and they gave it to Parks and Rec.

They just came out with the Emmy nominations and I have to say I'm pretty pleasantly surprised.

Emmy nominations

Nice to see Justified getting some recognition for the terrific season they had. Same with Peter Dinklage on Game of Thrones, Louis CK for Louie and Idris Elba getting a couple nods. Shame there was no such love for Sons of Anarchy, Nick Offerman or Archer though.
