TSNBobMcKenzie: As per #tsn colleague @Real_ESPNLeBrun, CBJ gets 2012 2nd rounder (OTT's), 2013 5th rounder and netminder Curtis McElhinney. #tradecentre

Real_ESPNLeBrun: That 5th-round pick in 2013 becomes a 4th-rounder for Columbus if Phoenix wins a playoff round this year

So what does this mean in relation to Nash being traded to Toronto?

They're replacing Vermette with Connolly.  8)

I liked Vermette, but he is really playing lousy this year.

Well we know there is a market for not great 3rd line veteran centres who make too much money and term.

Hi Tim Connolly, Matt Lombardi.

Well, right now it seems that is the meaning of life, the universe and everything in Toronto, suits. ;)

Agreed, but who isn't on Columbus? I think this trade will turn out very good for Phoenix. Vermette seems like the type of player who could excel there, and the Coyotes are pretty thin down the middle.

Vermette's stats in his last year in Ottawa were garbage and he went on to explode for 65 points the next year in Columbus when thrust into a top line role.

I could see this trade having a similar effect to him and the Coyotes.

Seems like the trend of a seller's market is continuing this year.

He did have some decent years here though - all the best to him in Quebec
