Main Leafs Hockey Talk / Re: Gustavsson

Isn't in the Toronto way to throw folks under the bus, come on folks, Gus is just starting out and I thought his play in Philadelphia was very good. Yes, he could of stopped one of Hartnell's goals but the breakaways allowed with Jaegermeister were not pretty and I don't think Tim Thomas or Tiny Tim could have stopped either one. Overall a few bounces this way or that and the Leafs at least could have had at least a point.
Have you ever noticed at the breaks that Reimer skates over to the bench but Gus stays in the crease, interesting how relaxed Reimer is.  Still I like the Monster but Scrivens is waiting in the wings. That sports however.

Cody  Franson looks like a bust, he was undressed every time he is on the ice. reminded me of McCabe near the end. Lets ship him off to be with Hal in Montreal and get a second pick or a sack of beans in return. The real trade in my estimation was Lombardi, this guy looks very good.

While agreeing that the team can improve and especially on the PP we have to remember that we are currently sitting on 9 out of a possible 12 points. When it is 9 out of 18 lets press the panic button.

Why don't we dump Orr down and move both Kadri and Colborne up to play with Frattin. This would be known as the KFC line.

Hi Carlton,
You mean he is playing in the NHL for Carolina?
Did not know that.

Don't forget Tlusty? Ouch I almost did.

Main Leafs Hockey Talk / Re: Phil Kessel

I watched Phil (with Boston) play the Leafs several years ago and he scored two sniper goals on us in one game. You could feel the energy in him. I wanted him to be a Leaf from the first time I saw him and watch out, he will get even better. I went to the Tampa Forum to see the Leafs lose last February 0-2 and Kessel was the best Leaf on the ice. Always hustling.

Hey, the kid is the best in the league in something, lets give him kudo's  for that. If he can win us two or three games drawing the puck in the final minute of the game then he is worth it.
I think we all agree the depth this team is starting to put together is the best in a long long time. [/font]

Why is Scrivens not playing?

Caputi is Kaput.  A Poni for a Caputi. What a deal.

why don't we use our imaginations and say we can have four scoring lines. Lombardi, Kadri and Frattin. Let Aulie do the fighting.
Or we could have a very amusing line of Colbourne, Kadir and Frattin known as the KFC line.

Please remember Kaberle had a bad concussion against the glass some years ago and was out for quite a while but came back without symptoms. Lombardi may be the same, in the same crew, everyone is different with different damage to different parts of the brain and the recuperative powers of the young are well known as all us old dogs know.

He is asking for a can opener and another own goal

Geez, one bad exhibition game and the hounds are loose. The night before you would have given Ron (one of the most winning coaches in NHL history) the Keys to the city. Lets all relax until Thanksgiving when we have several real season games to chew on. Also don't forget that Ron almost won gold at the last Olympics except for the heroics of one "Sid the Kid"...

Thought Olden was very very good, as was Frattin, Carrick was a bit of a suprise. Mckegg also looked good. The goalie (cant spell his name) has real potential, a very good glove hand. Finally we go into the future with guys whom can compete, not some of the duds we have had in the past
