This throws a wrench into the series. Vancouver takes a huge hit here if Demko can't make it back.

Quote from: cabber24 on Today at 01:52:06 PMPretty epic ending to Game 2.

With just 2:15 left in the game: CAR with their goalie pulled scored to tie, 9 seconds CAR scores again, NYI pulls their goalie, CAR scores again into the empty net, 102 PIM after the empty net goal, and CAR wins.

Yeah. Bit of a backswing on the ENG by Guentzel (nothing showboaty - not a full slapper or anything, but a little more than he probably needed) and the Islanders' frustration from blowing a 3-0 lead clearly boiled over. Some definite bad blood in that series going in - they faced each other last year and this is their 3rd series in 6 seasons - and it's spilling out now.

We don't suck?
Neither does Sammy?

Talk about a one-eighty mood swing on here.

Yeah. It's the playoffs!

Leafs were the better team, that's how. Leafs gave up 12 scoring chances 5v5 the whole game and only 4, 5v5 shots in the 3rd. Leafs had 37 overall chances to 17 for the Bruins.

5-on-5 the Leafs have been the better team in both games, so far. If they stay out of the box and cut out the stupid penalties, they can win this thing. Still struggling with the stupid stuff, though.

Quote from: bustaheims on Yesterday at 07:46:00 AMCut down on the undisciplined play and the defensive zone giveaways, and they should be fine.

This is true, but even if they do all that, the goaltending still worries me.

The goaltending is a potential area of concern, sure, but, if they can't cut down in those areas, it won't matter. Samsonov was solid when the Leafs D didn't explode and when they weren't taking unnecessary penalties.

It's the goalie at the other end of the ice that concerns me the most. The Leafs offence needs to find a few more holes there.

Can't take penalties like that, Domi.

Bruins have been the better team IMO

Disagree. Leafs have made bigger mistakes, but also have more good chances.

So many defensive zone giveaways. Even without much pressure. Not good. Need to clean that up.

Four behind Sammy so far.

Yeah, though, they were solid chances and hard shots. The quality of the chances is starting to be a concern.

It's a bit better than finding twine

Sure. Still nerve wracking, though.
