After discussions with RickC and MrT's family, we have selected the MLSE foundation as the preferred charity to donate in MrT's memory. Among their activities is the funding of hockey facilities

Canada's sport and recreation infrastructure is in a state of physical decline. Sixty-seven per cent of current facilities need to be repaired or replaced. (Active Healthy Kids Canada Report Card, 2012)

Since launching in December 2009, the MLSE Foundation has revitalized 24 athletic facilities in the Greater Toronto Area, shaping the lives of kids by enabling participation in the sports we all love.

By putting in top-quality facilities, we are showing these communities that they are important to us and that their kids deserve to play on the very best.

Athletic facilities are the heart of a community. Every kid should have an athletic facility within walking distance because when kids play sports, it leads to social change.
We transform dilapidated facilities to provide kids with opportunity and to show these communities that they are important and that their kids deserve to play on the very best. A new court gives kids the shot to dream big. Kids need a place to build friendships and be active. We revitalize courts, pitches, and rinks. The kids in the communities build dreams.

Mr. T, class A personified, we just lost one of the truly great Leaf fans and more importantly a great husband and father so it seems.  Thanks Misty for your kind words and thank you for helping to shape the life of a man that has not only touched your family but has also touched so many of our lives.  Embrace the man he was and the man he will continue to be, he was an absolute gift.

Just saw this. Truly one of the more thoughtful and articulate posters on this or any sports forum. He had a way of disagreeing with utter civility--the perfect counterpart to a good debate. I wish his family all the best.

Oh man I just found this thread. I've barely been on the site over the summer.

Mr. T was an awesome poster. I was definitely thinking the worst when he stopped posting quite a while back but getting the news confirmed is heart breaking.

I will miss his deep perspective on everything Leafs and hockey.
