Quote from: Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate on March 18, 2023, 12:29:56 PMIsn't this a road game?

Doesn't say @ Leafs for a reason!

Formatting it like this saves a bit of time.

Also, let's be honest, Ottawa is a home crowd for the Leafs.

Quote from: herman on March 17, 2023, 10:32:17 AMOne wonders what interesting and anti-miraculous way Matt Murray might injure himself during the warmups in Ottawa next game.

Banana peel?

Quote from: Bill_Berg_is_sad on March 15, 2023, 08:27:26 PMPenalty or not. I hate this stupid rule.

I like it fine. The last thing I want to see is defenceman throwing the puck over the glass as a tactic.

I would like to see it in a different class of penalty though, where it's a 1M instead of 2.

It should be treated the same as icing. Face off in your end, no timeout, no line change.

Putting it over intentionally was already a penalty. Penalizing it accidentally was and still is unnecessary.

Quote from: L K on March 15, 2023, 08:29:12 AM24 minutes against Colorado aren't going to get it done.  I hope they put in a better effort tonight.  It's crazy to me that Colorado has 80 points with all the injuries they have dealt with this year.

The Leafs play to the level of their opponents. Colorado is good, so the Leafs should be good.

Quote from: herman on March 15, 2023, 09:03:12 AMGoing pro; look for an ATO with the Marlies shortly.

The press release already confirms he's joining the Marlies on a PTO.

Wait we're supposed to read past the headline/tweet?

Only if you want the real story.

Nice dive by RNH on that one. Olympic quality.

4 minutes for getting punched? That's a new one.

Quote from: cw on March 10, 2023, 02:00:49 PMHe's currently enjoying more ice time with Carlson being out. He'll come back to earth some when Carlson returns.
When the dust settles, I think he'll be a decent top 4 at ES & PP and not much PK.
Next year, at $1.4 mil, he'll be one of the better cap values in the NHL along with Liljegren.
If he stays healthy, he'll have a good NHL career.

Yeah. I think he'll end up being a pretty standard 2nd pairing guy - which is good for him, but nothing to really cry over losing. There's a good number of those types around the league and they move around pretty frequently.

He's like a Paul Martin or a JM Liles - a good piece to have around, but not really a game changer.

Quote from: lamajama on March 07, 2023, 09:42:13 PMI really like TSN. Sportsnet is crap. Bonsie and Ralph are the best. Just ridiculous they are not on tv let alone follow them on the road.

I was going to say exactly this, get Joe Bowen doing Leafs TV broadcasts again. It was great when he was doing the non-national games.

Leaf broadcasts have some talented on air people... but that NESN Bruin broadcast... just ridiculous...

That Mark Masters guy is pretty good. :P

Quote from: Bill33 on March 07, 2023, 04:08:48 PMYeah, that's just about perfect, in terms of getting back up to game speed. And I would assume (legit question mark) that he could still skate non-contact and keep his fitness up.

He might be advised to stay off skates for a bit, but he can definitely do other activities (bike, treadmill, etc.) to keep up his fitness.

But can he still play the guitar on road trips :(

Might have some issues there.

Drop D barre chords only.

So lots of Days of the New?

There's a wide range of mediocre 90s alt rock options available.

Quote from: bustaheims on March 07, 2023, 11:38:17 AMThey've mostly been beating up on bad teams - which, you know, good for them.

Maybe the leafs can take some notes.

Nah. The Leafs do a pretty good job of beating the good teams, which is more important.
