NHL Draft 2026

This should be a fascinating early look into how Chayka wants the organization to draft. Hopefully we can find a few mid-round guys who will be breaking into the NHL in the next 3-4 years. The lack of anyone doing that over the last decade has been a big reason why our depth has suffered.

We’ve got Danford, Chadwick, Holinka, Koblar in the next year or two. Nansi, Johansson if they make it are a touch farther out.

60. Alex Bilecki
Final Rankings: Bilecki is a cerebral OHL defenseman with strong passing touch and spatial awareness. He consistently delivers accurate, well-weighted passes that support breakouts and offensive-zone play, and shows flashes of high-end distribution. He activates well offensively, but skating is stiff, and his urgency and pace under pressure remain concerns defensively. – Ryan Ma

Alexander Bilecki - LHD 6'1" 180 lbs

Plays for the Rangers in the OHL. 9G 22A in 66 GP and 11 points in 18 playoff games.....playing on an absolutely stacked team but I did like what I saw of him in the games I saw.

I guess we can sort of thank the Matthews Hlacar pick for this?

Calgary gets another Iginla

This next Toronto pick better be real nice

A bunch of defencemen I thought would be interesting picks at 60 or in the 3rd round that are still available: Axel Elofsson, Ethan MacKenzie, Luke Schairer.

69. Ethan MacKenzie
Left-shot two-way defender who defends with an early gap, scans on retrievals, and moves pucks cleanly. Offense projects via exits, secondary assists, and spot power play touches.
