100%. I read an article in Maclean's years ago that talked about the virtual monopoly that Microsoft had, and how it killed all innovation in that company. For example, when Google came out, and became so successful that it became synonymous with searching on the web, did Microsoft take their money and invest in their developers and ask them to go build a better search engine?
No. They went and bought a company that already had a search engine. And then they killed the innovation in that company as well.
Necessity is the mother of invention. If you have more money than you know what to do with, you do not have necessity. This is why I ultimately believe that the rabid Leaf fanbase is the cause of the Leafs problem. We give them so much money, that they don't have to be clever.
