I don't think they gave up. I think the system is just flat out flawed. It doesn't work.

In Myers' last 5 games the Leafs at 5-on-5 have been out shot-attempted 25-97, out shot 10-36, but are somehow up 2-0 in goals.

It's not always coddling the stars. Coaches more then not will stick with the stars because they're game changers and the hope is their talent will come through, even if it's just one play to save the game, get a goal. It doesn't make it the smartest move but it's almost always the move with the best odds. I didn't agree with Berube there because I don't think they were on that long or wasted a lot of energy so keep them going. We'll see how it goes especially on the PP. See if he sticks to the new look for more then a PP.
