Kraken @ Leafs - Oct. 18th, 7:00pm - SN

I'm ready to not have Rielly on the PP. His shot just isn't a threat on the PP and he has bad timing for when to throw the puck at the net for deflections.
Agreed entirely. What is the downside in using
OEL on the power play? He has a shot. He makes quick decisions with the puck. And he doesn’t telegraph every pass. And the opposing players don’t over commit with Morgan because he hasn’t been a threat with a point shot from the blue line for years.

I don't see much of a downside right now. Rielly can carry the puck into the zone but they can use that on the 2nd PP. Nylander Matthews & Knies should be able to help with that.

Stolarz seems to have more fire in him than the rest of the team combined. Maybe because he's only been here a short while and it hasn't been drained out of him yet.

It's becoming more difficult for me to care about this group as time goes on. They don't fight for each other, show little to no emotion...and don't win anything of note. Meh.

Stolarz didn't agree. Stolarz was pretty harsh on Nylander getting beat in OT.

He had 3 x 6+ min periods.
He started OT with a 30 second shift
He then got 2 mins rest (equivalent to 3 other lines getting 40 second shifts - so not a rest that was too short)
On his second/last shift, he was winded when the game ended 29 seconds into his 2nd shift.
It is not the first OT game lost when Nylander ran out of gas. Maybe that is what bugged Stolarz
Maybe he isn't very fit.

I like what Stolarz had to say. Elite teams police and coach themselves and in turn support one another. I’ve been hoping for a Gary Roberts psycho from the leadership group to say things out loud instead of waiting for the media to insinuate things.

Better to see it in October rather than in the May/June press conferences.

They definitely need to toughen up. The non-response to the Cowan and Stolarz hits are very disappointing and telling.

I don't buy the tired legs bullsh*t. He was flat footed, lost his man, and by the time he was beat, he couldn't catch up. Stick with your guy, and there's no play there. Especially getting beat by a guy that hasn't scored a goal in 2 years. I couldn't believe how quickly the play x play guy defended him. Is Nylander really made of glass?

And surely this will be the last we see of Maccelli right? I'd take Jarnkrok any day of the week over the perimeter player Maccelli is. If you want more fire, put players in the line up with more fire. More drive. And play them. Move them up the line up to drive play. If you want to create energy, you have to remove playing time from your energy drainers and put in your spark plugs. That's Robertson, Cowan, Domi(can't believe I said that), Lorentz, Roy, Tavares, Jarnkrok. Right now, for me, every other forward is sucking the energy out of the team. Lack of care. Lack of second effort. Just Lacking. Including Matthews, Knies and Nylander.

Maybe Marner really was the driving force on this team and they let the wrong superstar leave. The Leafs just got out hustled by Shane Wright, Chandler Stevenson, and Jaden Schwartz. That's unacceptable.
