Cassidy's comments weren't even that harsh. Can you really not speak out about reffing at all?

Nope.  The NHL is the only league that has a completely different set of rules in the regular season and post-season.  I like that the game is more physical but the hooking and holding that defensive oriented teams get away with is painful.  It doesn't add to the "toughness" element of the game and creates a boring visual product.

I agree 100%. It's sad that a inferior team can beat a better team by hooking and holding skilled players up and down the ice. The Leafs should have a major gripe about this. Watching that Winnipeg vs Montreal series was mindnumbing.

Agree. I couldn't watch it, flat out horrible. Said it many times, the NHL is the only league that punishes skill. Trapazoid, non calls of penalties in the playoffs. I saw  Bruin crosscheck a guy at least 3  times last night and he was down for 2 of them. That's ridiculous.

I actually have more of a problem with the flat out holds on the dumps and chases. That's 100% interference. It gets called all year. Then in the playoffs it's back to the early 90's we go. I'm not a fan of the dump and chase, but with certain players, it's what I want to see. Get it deep. Bang some bodies. Wear down a defense. Allow the secondary D to retreat, get the puck easily and breakout while the primary D is holding the dumping player up removes the effectiveness from a dump and chase game.

I def hate the interference as well. There is no chance of wearing down the D because they don;t have to rush back lol.

I'd agree with that. I'd say that the trend is going to end in the next round.....but who knows if the Habs blanket method works with Colorado or Vegas? It's like watching the New Jersey Devils championship teams
