Nic Roy to Avalanche

I think it is a fair trade. He's a center, got size, wins draws, decent defensively. Has his name on the Cup. Colorado had seen him plenty.

I don't mind Laughton but he won't be around when they contend so they should get what they can for him (a 2nd?). There will be plenty of low end UFAs who would like to experience playing in Toronto..

Ditto for McMann, OEL, the goalies, etc If the price was right, I'd trade any of them.
 
I dunno, I look at this as the GM totally screwing over the Marner situation, Leafs were going to lose Marner for 0, but managed to get a guy with threats of tampering and then turned that into a first round pick. So a 1st round pick vs 0 is better, I guess
