It's not bad, I don't think GWG is a meaningful stat though.

Like today, it only became the GWG because of the penalty called on Dermott.

The PP is also best in the league 36.8% since November 20th.

The next closest is Vancouver at 31% over the same span.

It looks so much more dangerous lately too.

When I saw this, I wondered why Matthews didn't just one-time it (or catch-release) as usual. Nylander later mentioned in his post-game scrum that Matthews told him he wasn't even expecting a pass.

Matthews-Tavares-Nylander the next shift after a penalty kill has looked deadly. Scored the 2nd goal with 30 seconds left in the first period.

Nylander right now is probably their most effective facilitator on the PP. He's got first rate vision but is looking to pass first which distinguishes him from Matthews but his shot is enough of a weapon(as opposed to Marner) that teams can't give him too much room which opens up lanes.

He's still the third of three but I think we're beginning to see why holding onto all three of them was so important as they all bring different things to the table.
