Leafs part ways with Berube

I mean, someone has to coach here, even if it isn't the most enticing option. And maybe it's not Carle, but I'd wager that we want a coach to help build a program and be here for the long haul. I don't think Chayka is going to pitch a coach that is known to have a short shelf life on a 2 or 3yr deal and fire him after year 2 and have MLSE eat more salary. This is why I don't think a guy like Bruce Cassidy makes sense right now and we would lean younger and more progressive with more job security.
 
I watched an interview of Carle on one of the Leafs podcasts the other day, and Carle was critical of the firing of NHL coaches lately, and the gist of it was that he didn't have those kinds of worries at DU.
