Look, all I want is a team that scores early, scores a lot, doesn't take their foot off the gas in the third, doesn't allow the first goal, or late goals, or defensively collapse, or allow their opponent good chances in the 3rd period. Is that so much to ask?

I don't go by those stats because they're sketchy at best. I remember an intermission where Poulin or Ferraro were talking about Gardiner giveaways, he had about 5 they showed yet only 1 was credited to him.

They're imperfect, all subjective stats are, but the central point remains. Good players give away the puck. The issue is having something in the way of an objective standard vs. fan perception which is frequently affected by confirmation bias.
