Leafs acquire Conor Timmins from ARI

This is a great pick up. He's got some tools for sure. Hopefully the Leafs can help him reach his potential.

Curtis Douglas was never going to play for the Leafs.  Connor Timmins may never be healthy enough to play for the Leafs.  6'2 200lbs RHD wins that trade every day of the week.  We also had pretty good success the last time we acquired a RHD from the Coyotes

Douglas may find a spot with the Yotes but he's really taken a step back this year, so far. I had high hopes for him and wish him well. Hope it works out for both teams.

This.

If Timmins gets into games for the Leafs, that's already an asset upgrade. If he even approaches the potential he once had, it's a huge steal. Douglas isn't a big loss (outside of the fact he's, you know, a large human).

Maybe.

Is there a sense whether Timmins is able to play in the near term?  Is he healthy / able / capable to step in?  If not, what's the projected timeframe?

He just finished a 6-game conditioning stint in the AHL. Health wise I imagine he's cleared to play pretty much immediately. It'd be up to the coaching staff to decide if they want to get him some more practices in before playing.

I read somewhere he was partnered with Chychrun in practice. He's 100% cleared to play

R the Leafs allowed to use him with the Marlies and not clear waivers?

No. Part of the reason Arizona moved him was so they didn't lose him on waivers for nothing.

Offtopic but Hollowell held his own last nite, good for him.
Ya Hollowell was very composed, good skater and good vision, plays the gaps well.
He looked just like he does with the Marlies...great skater, passer...

I was at the game. I did notice a couple of times where he got the puck low in the D zone, had time, and then just tossed it up the boards to the opposing dman at the point. Seemed like a bad rookie turnover. So he?s def got room to improve. (Stating the obvious no doubt.)

More importantly, what did you throw?
