The path here appears to be riding out one year until Seguin’s big ticket expires so there is room (in addition to the projected cap growth) to re-extend further on a chunkier 7-yr deal.
I mean they already lost players this offseason due to cap crunch. Dallas is currently 1.3M over the cap with 13F/7D 2G. They would have had to trade more guys away to sign him to a bigger deal. This seems like the most logical approach.The risk is Robertson will be UFA upon the expiry of this deal.
