I was at the game last night. A few observations from the game:
- Was a sloppy game all around from both teams.
- Gustavsson obviously started off shaky. The first goal was fluky. The second goal, I couldn't tell from my vantage point or not if it was deflected off a stick. After that though he settled down and made some great stops. He had no chance on the 3rd goal. I have no problem if he's given the opportunity to run with things for a bit here.
- Gunnarsson has generally been our most steady defender, but wasn't that last night. Not a good game by him.
- Each team's top players were underwhelming. I know Pominville scored the game winner off a Vanek pass, but they, along with Kessel and Lupul, were barely noticeable.
- Speaking of barely noticeable -- I kind of forgot Boyes was still with Buffalo.
- The PP set up. Who in the world thought that up?! So predictable. I mentioned this in the "Special Teams " thread I started at the beginning of the year -- there is no way you are going to get any momentum in the opposition zone when four guys are
standing still waiting for the trailer to bring the puck in or dump it in. Easy pickings.
- Schenn. When he took that "shot" on Grabovski's goal, I'm like, "What in the world?" Then I realized it was a brilliant play. The rest of his game however...

.
- Finally...I really hate Buffalo fans.
