Game 34: BUF @ TOR

There is a game tonight, yes?  If someone has time to start a proper GDT, my thanks, and mods please delete this.  If not, feel free to use this thread.

The last game between these two teams was entertaining. I hope that this is more of the same with Miller getting blown out of the water. Kessel with a couple goals and an assist.

Leafs 6-2

Nobody wants their name linked to a Buffalo game day thread. :)

Its even scarry posting in it.

I would post something, but I dislike the Sabres so much, it would probably be censored.  All I know is, it will be another 1 goal game, but this time I hope it is for the Leafs.

TSN IceChips:

James Reimer makes his second consecutive start in goal. He was beaten for five goals against the Sabres in Buffalo last week. -TSN

Keith Aulie checks back into the lineup on the blueline. Aulie has played in only three games this season, sitting as a healthy scratch eight times. It?s unclear who comes out in his place, but would not be surprised if it?s Jake Gardiner. Gardiner was benched for the better part of the second and third period against Los Angeles and is a minus-5 in the last three games. Wilson said following Monday?s game that he seemed to be lacking in energy. -TSN

Forwards:
Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
MacArthur - Connolly - Kadri
Frattin- Grabovski - Kulemin
Boyce - Steckel - Crabb

Defence:
Gunnarsson - Phaneuf
Aulie - Schenn
Liles - Franson

Goaltenders:
Reimer
Gustavsson

Aulie paired with Schenn just seems to me like bad news.  Two guys who are 'slow' footed, can't really pass very well, just dump the puck out... doesn't bode well for the forwards when they are on.  Maybe they can work really well as a stopper-pair.

Either way, I hate playing the Sabres.  They always play us like it's their Stanley Cup game.  They were trounced their last two games also meaning their due.

4-2 Sabres.  Whoever is struggling for them will score (Roy and Stafford right?)

Good move sitting Gardiner.  Like many rookies, he seems to have hit a wall 2 months into the slog.

Yikes - Buffalo, Ottawa and the Jets can all vault over us by the end of tonight. We could be as low as 10th.

Oh, and the Caps could move past us tomorrow - 11th is a possibility for Christmas...

Eeep - we need a couple of wins here.

Its actually Justin Bieber (Gardiner's favorite musician) who will sit out tonight's game. So that's good news.
Perhaps Jake & Justin can go Christmas caroling together instead of watching from the press box tonight?

Not feeling it for tonight's game. I have this sinking feeling in my stomach that the Leafs are on the cusp of a long losing streak which will only be temporarily broken up by Christmas.
