Clutch scoring and late-game dramatics have the Ottawa Senators on their longest winning streak in two seasons.  Another meeting against Phil Kessel(notes) and the Toronto Maple Leafs may be the toughest test yet for the surging Senators.

Ottawa attempts to extend its winning streak to six games by quieting the NHL?s top scorer and the Maple Leafs in a meeting of provincial rivals in the nation?s capital Sunday night.  Ottawa (6-5-0) has won five in a row for the first time since a six-game winning streak from March 22-April 1, 2010.

Parity, parity, saith the preacher.

Just when you think the sens are going to start the season at 1-10, thereby providing final, definitive proof that there is a God, they pull a 5-game-winning streak out of their .... uh, out of the loading dock in the CorelDraw Banko Centre.

Vile.

So they're due for a loss then ;)

Hey, I think its great. I didn't want them getting a lottery pick anyway. They can finish 9th or 10th in the east and I'll be happy with that.  :P

On another note, would have liked to see Scrivens start tonight to see what he brings to the table. Haven't been following the Marlies but I hear good things about him.

They really need to strong arm Spezza tonight and not let him shoot. He's had a hot hand lately and I'm kind of tired of him again, already.

Gunnar is playing lights out.  Him and Phaneuf look really strong together.

Gus looks much stronger, and looked a lot more confident last night.  When he took his time to put his mask back on when it was knocked off in the third, he was basking in it.

All 4 lines looked dangerous at points of the game.  I'm really enjoying watching the games lately.

However, there's still one guy that makes me nervous whenever he touches the puck...

I wonder if they'll put Orr or Rosehill in to stop Neil from picking fights with Gardiner or Bozak.

I hope not... We have Brownie for that and besides, I'm happy to have more PPs in this one than the Sens.

The Leafs record makes it hard to expect them to keep winning. But this is the Sens. We must beat the Sens - always and every time.

Note to the Leafs. The Sens tend to show up in the 3rd and can do a lot of damage in that period - please play 60 minutes.
