-Morgan Rielly of course left Saturday's game in the 2nd period with an upper body injury. There hasn't been an update on him yet so it remains to be seen if he'll be ok to play or if the Leafs will have to reconfigure their defence pairings in his absence

Well not really, only in the sense that that's been a thing here for awhile so we should be used to that. The two seasons before this Nylander and Marner were really our only two full-time righties, with Jarnkrok and Reaves in and out of the line-up for injury/performance reasons. The only other righty to suit up at forward in those 2 seasons was Alex Nylander for 5 games.

I think adding another right handed forward, particularly a top-6 one, but handedness specially probably isn't at the top of the list of what's holding the team back right now. Lots of teams are generally have more lefties.
