Are the leafs, with Brown, Steckel, and Komisarek gone ( Komi almost gone); is this now the youngest NHL team?

It's possible. I believe Columbus was/is. Not that those guys were all that old either, but maybe.

Columbus was 26.9 for youngest, Leafs and Wpg tied for next at 27.3.

+Kostka i 1985 (27)
not sure how you figure that out from there and who exactly needs to be added to that total (the source, mirtle, said the average age, above, is from opening day roster) but it looks to me that we've probably lost about 10 years off the total..... if the Leafs aren't the youngest now, they're danged close to it.

wouldn't the easiest way to do it now be to just add up the ages of the players listed on the roster at mapleleafs.nhl.com and divide by the total number?

Okay, so I did that. Added up the 22 guys listed there (less Komisarek) and divided by 22. Came to 25.3 But we're missing 1 name, no? Isn't the roster 20 guys plus 2 goalies?

Actually I get 26.4 with the 22 guys. For the Jackets I get 26.3, that is with 22 guys as they have 2 on injured reserve right now which is likely why they are different from the start of the season. Their replacements must be young enough to change their age avg.
