Clement definitely playing too much (particularly since he's really just a good utility INF, not a starter)
And Sean Keys, a big power LH bat sitting on the bench on a team starved for power and not even pinch hitting is another head scratcher. Unfortunately he's going to be perpetually blocked by a .680 OPS groundball hitter who has to play every day and can't hit less than third in order..

That whole game was completely atrocious. Why was Lorenzen pitching so much when his ERA was 6+?

The offense is so bad that I think the manager decisions gets wiped away but I feel like the coaching/in game decision making has been very poor.
Clement has a .465 OPS since the beginning of August. He's clearly hurt. Schneider just plays him every day regardless of result.
Vlad Jr staying in the top 2-4 spot in the lineup all year despite his struggles.
When we do have guys with speed on the bases we aren't aggressive despite having a lot of guys who are ground ball double play machines.
That Lorenzen appearance was just the cake for me. You held Miles back in the first game against the Tigers because of the bullpen day and then didn't even use him the next day.
There are a lot of holes on this roster heading into next year.
DH - Its covered by Santander who hasn't played much baseball in the last two years
Outfield has Lukes, Bateman, Santander and the ghost of Barger
They can't go into next season with both Giminez and Clement playing 150+ games

Bring back Bo Bichette if he opts out looks like a top option based on the current FA outlook. An outfield of Bateman, Lukes, Barger and sometimes Santander is frightening. Seiya Suzuki is an interesting name to add to the OF mix. Or likely they will exercise Straw's option to cover lefties for Lukes.
