14 runners left. 3-17 with runners in scoring position. Pitching aside, the poor showing for the hitters tonight was the reason they lost. Give the Dodgers credit, their pitchers got out of a lot of jams. Every Jays starting pitcher who pitched in this game gave up at least one run. This was not a good way to end the season.
I'm not going to be mad at this team for not winning. I didn't think this was a playoff team coming into spring training.
IKF getting as much run as he did was unacceptable. Sliding feet first in the 9th after getting a terrible lead was unacceptable. He had a perfect bunt to get Vladdy over. Heart breaking loss.
Rogers is going to need to spend even more to keep this team competitive next year though. Bo is going to be expensive.
I’m not mad at all. Completely unexpected season. It’s just a little sad that the jays were by far the better team and ended up beating themselves. Other than game 2, they had ample chances to win every game.
Oh well. Let’s hope it’s not another 30 years for a World Series appearance.
Bases loaded 1 out, you have to get the runner in. They had multiple chances. Vladdy on 3rd 1 out, you gotta get him in. They blew it. Oh well. Like the Leafs, I won't lose any sleep over it. Thanks for the show tho.
Discussion on where the Jays sit moving forward can happen later but the farm system is still very thin. Seattle has a deep farm system and Boston has a number of high end prospects pushing into the lineup. The job doesn't get easier next year. This was a blown opportunity.
Still proud as hell of this team. A healthy Bo and we likely win. A healthy Springer and we potentially with Game 3.
We didn't have an answer for Yamamoto and he was just unhittable when it mattered most
Man lady luck truly was not on our side tonight. What were the chances on all those single shot HRs? Kirk breaking his bat? That plate call being so close. Just gut wrenching. I mean obviously they need to do certain things to win the game but one thing goes differently and they win it. It's hard to be all that critical.
I do like what we have here. Lots of great role players really coming on. Love Clement and Barger. We just need improvement on the margins and if Yesavage is the real deal.
Also, imagine if we we had the same kind of free agent pull of the Dodgers.Took the highest payroll team with a $100M higher payroll to the absolute limit. I think we have a lot to be proud of.
