I think it's been trained out of hockey culture. Closest thing to a pitcher is a goalie IMO. Goalies are odd, with some really weird rituals but you don't see the Patty Roy fire out of goalies anymore.

I was just listening to the morning show on the fan, and I’m an almost daily listener of Blair and barker - and it kinda hit me - why don’t we have anyone like barker who can analyze the leafs? He’s almost the exact opposite of kypreos for example. He has great insights as a former player, is clearly connected to the current players and coaches, gives meaningful analysis, and fairly, whether its positive or negative.

Meanwhile we have that lunkhead kypreos who clearly does no prep for his show, you can tell he relies on McKee and Bourne for actual facts. The dude spews nonsense, offers almost nothing in terms of being in the league or connections with current players, other than pretending he contributed anything to the rangers cup win.

I guess this is a long rambling way of saying I can’t stand kypreos.

The Leafs don't get that because the media wants to market to the Leafs haters as much as they do the Leafs fans.

Noone hates the Jays so they can do more balanced commentary.
