2025 Blue Jays

Manoah will not be pitching for the jays this season and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he never makes it back to the majors.

At his best he was throwing at about 93mph, and he’s completely lost his command. I’m not wishing that he doesn’t make it back, I just feel that the odds are not in his favour.
His command has gotten a little better in his last couple rehab outings, but I don't see him making the Jays this season. He could be a factor next season, though.

On the topic of the bullpen, at least it looks like the Jays made the right call letting Jordan Romano go. He's been atrocious for the Phillies.

Schneider saying "but he has XXX saves" is profoundly tone deaf at this point. The only positive is that he had a more dreadful May and bounced back in June....the bullpen is a major problem.

The offense scoring 1 run and the story being Hoffman is also an issue.

Guerrero being 1 for 20 since coming back from his injury hasn't helped.

100%. As much as the bullpen has let them down, it's tough to win 1-0 games. That's a lot of pressure on what has been proven to be a very mediocre bullpen

Good bounceback to at least salvage the series with a win.

Boston won but the Yankees lost so heading into September the division leaders are:
Detroit80-58-0.5
Toronto79-58----
Houston75-62+4.0

The division is
Toronto79-58----ELIMINATION #
New York76-61+3.022
Boston76-62+3.521

Tiebreakers:
1) Best record
2) Best head to head record

Blue Jays hold the tie breaker against Boston with a 7-3 head to head record and 3 games remaining against them
Blue Jays hold the tie breaker against New York with a 7-3 head to head record and 3 games remaining against them

All that to blow another lead the following day. So the real question becomes.....Is the team that went on that incredible hot streak the real team, or is the 15-13 team since August 1st the real team?

I think it's somewhere in between (as usual). Bullpen is just overextended right now as they've been sheltering the starters. I think the Jays like to get strikeouts more than they pitch for ground contact (we have a pretty great defense), so their starters hit their pitch count ceilings pretty early.
