Only 3 coaches have won cups with multiple teams in NHL history.

I get that but what's the alternative? I think if we hire Cassidy or DeBoer we will be held back by roster construction and not coaching.

I think either would be fine. But to hire a coach before a GM would be odd. That's, assuming Treliving is gone, which I'm not entirely sure will happen.
 
They should hire President, then GM, then Coach, so there is strategic and tactical alignment for the vision. Currently their vision has no operational strategy (other than waiting) and nothing effective is being executed, and the players are generally just complying with the bare minimum of the system because it requires a great deal more motivation to make work.

Hiring a president doesn't necessarily need to wait until the end of this season which means they're shopping for executives under contract at the moment. Their waffling is forcing two lame ducks to try to pilot this shipwreck in a constructive manner (it's not working). Maybe Rogers (not the full owners yet) is just generating a reason to clean house and scrub payroll.

Draisaitl's on his 7th coach. McD on his 5th....pretty funny seeing McD has only been in the league 1 more year then the Leafs core....Drai 2years.

Oh the Oilers are def weird. It's the McD show always. They're a lottery team without him and this year, lucky to be in the Pacific. Not one of those teams would be in the playoffs in the east. That's not right that more then a few teams will probably miss out of the playoffs and have more points then teams that do.

They also have this weird refusal to get a top tier goalie. Like the flyers of the early 2000s.
